I first visited Sweetness and Light in the late 1970s when I was introduced to dark chocolate buttermilk patties. They were fabulous and incredibly good then, and I've been addicted ever since. They were very large costing only $1.25, and though the size has decreased and the price has increased, the quality remains exceptional, and they are worth every penny. I am always so grateful for store owner Matt who quickly and graciously fills my orders!

I have been buying dark chocolate buttermilk patties from Sweetness and Light for over 40 years. They used to be enormous but have grown smaller over time. So for years I have been able to special order a couple dozen good sized patties. Alas, Covid has ended special orders, so I was crushed to see how very small my 35 patties were. Should've ordered 48! BUT the quality and exquisite taste were in full force as a!ways, and they arrived overnight instead of the suggested 3 days which I greatly appreciated.

A tradition that started many decades ago in Ferndale, the Buttermilk center is purely heaven. It's lightly sweet, super creamy, full of flavor and richness. Dipped in milk or dark chocolate, it is perfectly paired. Always a favorite in our family.
